What's for Dinner?

Kalea has been a really good eater so far. She has tried pretty much everything that we have put in front of her and i can't think of anything that she has completely turned away from and not wanted to ever eat. The past few weeks she has been exposed to a couple tastes that i was sure she would turn away from. About a week and a half ago I gave her some chorizo and eggs. She loved it! i was sure that the chorizo would be too spicy or too strong for her, but the kid kept coming back for more. I probably should not have been surprised because one of her favorite things to eat is japanese curry with rice. Last night Kalea got her first taste of sushi. She was all about unagi, and she made her dad really proud by putting away most of her mom's order as we sat down to eat. The kid just really loves food, and it's fun to watch her go at it when she gets new tastes. i'm excited to see how she is when all her teeth come in and she can really get into the great food that we have in arms reach here.

It's the Simple Things

Kalea up to this point has really come to love the everyday things that we take for granted. Her favorite toys seem to be boxes or zip lock bags - things that don't cost much at all. she has so much fun wearing the box for her diapers on her head and looking through the handles to peak out and see what is going on outside. one of her favorite things at my mom's house is to open the peep hole door on her front door to look outside and feel the gust of wind on her face. She is facinated with the magnets that people have on their refridgerators. These small joys help me to not take for granted the small things in life and to appreciate everything that comes along. This is a video of Kalea finding happiness in an orange. Uncle Toshi does help in bringing out the fun in this particular fruit.
